Communication Skills

Effective communication is the most important of all life skills.
Communication is simply the act of passing information from one place to another, whether this be:
Vocal (using voice).
Verbal (using printed or digital media such as books, magazines, websites or emails).
Visual (using logos, maps, charts or graphs) or non-verbally (using body language, gestures and the tone and pitch of voice). 

Communication skills help you in all aspects of your life, from your professional life to personal life and everything in between. The ability to communicate information clearly and accurately is an important life skill. 
It’s never too late to work on your communication skills and by doing so improve your quality of life.
Professionally, if you are applying for jobs or looking for a promotion with your current employer, you will almost certainly need to show good communication skills. For example, the ability to: speak with a wide variety of people, maintaining eye contact, using vocabulary and tailor your language to your audience, effective listening, present your ideas appropriately, writing clearly and working well in a group all require good communication skills. Many of these are essential skills.
As your career progresses, the importance of communication skills increases; Ability to speak, listen, question and write with clarity and conciseness.

Interpersonal Communication Skills:


We use interpersonal communication skills when engaged with face-to-face communication with one or more than one persons.

To communicate effectively what we say is an important  way. To improve this skills we need to work on Verbal Communication Skills and Effective Speaking Skills.

Body Language is also an important part of communication. We actually communicate more information by using signals, postures, gestures, eye contact and facial expressions. To improve skills we  need to work on Non-Verbal Communication, Personal Presentation and Personal appearance.

When we communicate we spend 40% of time on listening. Listening is a vital Interpersonal communication skill. Active listening provides a lot more information to communicate effectively. To improve communication skills we need to work on Listening Skills and Active Listening. We also need to know about Ineffective Listening means some of the bad habits what we do at the time of listening. 

Reflection and Clarification are both common techniques used to ensure that what you have heard and understood is what was intended.

Interpersonal skills are very useful to you to improve your communication and to maintain good relationship in the work place with teams, groups and higher authorities. It is very helpful for you in your professional and personal life.
